Cloud Computing Market In Saudi Arabia Witnesses Boom

Saudi Arabia is one of the first countries in the Middle East to use cloud computing in a substantial way. The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) has set a five-year strategy to quadruple the sector’s development and add $13.3 billion to GDP.
The Saudi Arabia Vision 2030 was the inspiration for the government’s National Transformation Program. The Saudi government opted to use the NTP to digitally empower all areas of the economy, including banking, finance, government, industry, and healthcare, as the world becomes increasingly dominated by digital technologies.
Saudi Aramco and Google Cloud signed an agreement in December 2020 that prepares the way for the deployment of high-performance, low-latency cloud services. Saudi Telecom Company (STC) and eWTP Arabia took a similar approach for Alibaba Cloud.
Key players operating in the country’s cloud computing market include Nournet, Wafai CLOUD, CloudSigma, Oracle, Microsoft, Cisco Systems Inc, SAP SE, IBM, Etihad Etisalat Company, and Sahara Net.
