Hotel Revenues Exceed RO 83 Million in Oman by June 2022
Muscat: The revenues of (3-5) star hotels in the Sultanate of Oman by the end of June 2022 recorded a surge by 121.4% to reach RO 83.360 million compared to the same period in 2021, according to the latest data issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).
The number of guests in the (3-5) star hotels increased by 44.6% till the end of June 2022 to reach 770,000 guests. Occupancy rate in those hotels reached 25.1%.
The number of GCC guests recorded the biggest growth rate of 875.7% to reach 61,863 by the end of June 2022 compared to 6,340 guests during the same period in 2021. European guests came second with an increase by 756% to reach 185,297 by the end of June 2022 compared to 21,648 guests by the end of June 2021. Meanwhile, Omani guests declined by 7.5% to reach 348,788 by the end of June 2022 compared to 376,970 by the end of June 2021.
The number of American guests by the end of June 2022 reached 27,281 comprising a rise by 199.9% compared to the same period in 2021, while guests from the African continent reached 3,921 going up by 94.6% compared to the same period in 2021.
Moreover, the number of Asian guests also increased by 21.4% to reach 92,637 by the end of June 2022 compared to 76,328 guests by the end of June 2021.
