Oman, Indonesia Sign Agreement To Increase Air Traffic

Oman, represented by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), signed an air transport agreement with the Republic of Indonesia to organise the operational and technical aspects of increasing air traffic between the two nations’ airports.
The agreement included 22 articles and an appendix that outlines air routes between the two countries.
These articles varied between economic and other provisions for organisational and operational cooperation to enable airlines designated by the two countries to operate seven (7) passenger and cargo flights to any airport in the two countries. These companies can enter cooperative agreements for the exchange of the common codes.
It is also noteworthy that with a total of 119 agreements, the Sultanate is bound by bilateral agreements in the field of air transport with several countries. These agreements aim to regulate air transport and the technical and operational aspects of airlines and strengthen relations in the field of civil aviation with countries around the globe.
The authority, in cooperation with government agencies and aviation sector institutions in the Sultanate, is reportedly keen to increase and strengthen the number of air transport agreements in the coming years as an enabler for economic and social activities with countries of the world and contribute to the revitalisation of the aviation sector by increasing operations to and fro various airports and attracting international airlines.
