Amman:  Ahmed Amer Al Jabri, an Omani national skated to the finale in the 6th edition of Jordan’s King Abdullah II Award for Youth Innovation and Achievement.

Al Jabri’s project, codenamed Qatra or “droplet”, utilizes modern techniques on the rationalization of water use in irrigating plants.

A winner in the contest will receive $50,000 for the development of his/her prototype.

The winning projects are shortlisted by a specialized technical committee from the Arab world.

Over the past five chapters, the biennial award was won by 41 competitors from eight Arab countries and it generated 85,000 direct and indirect jobs.
