Minister of Finance and National Economy meets members of the American Chamber of Commerce in Bahrain
Manama, May 18(BNA): HE Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy, today met remotely with members of the American Chamber of Commerce in Bahrain.
During the meeting, HE the Minister noted that Bahrain continues to intensify efforts to strengthen economic coordination with the United States, underlining the importance of minimizing all Coronavirus-related disruptions.
Turning to Bahrain’s outlook, HE the Minister noted that the Kingdom continues to balance public safety and subsequent economic implications by reallocating resources to minimize the magnitude of the economic shock.
HE the Minister noted that the Kingdom has introduced a BHD 4.3 billion economic stimulus package to counter the effects of the global pandemic.
HE the Minister went on to affirm that Bahrain has prioritized support to its health sector to sustain citizens’ and residents’ well-being.
Attendees at the meeting also included HE Shaikh Abdulla Bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United States of America, the Honorable Justin H. Siberell, Ambassador of the United States to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Jonathan B. Witmer, President & CEO WestPoint Home, Khalid Al-Zayani, Co-Chair of US-Bahrain Business Council, Zubin Chagpar, Head of the Middle East & Africa, Public Sector at AWS, and Jennifer Miel, US-Bahrain Business Council Executive Director.
