UAE Sterilisation Drive: Stay Home Or Face Penalties, Residents Told
UAE residents have been warned to stay at home and not venture out unless it was absolutely essential between Today evening and Sunday morning as a mass sterilisation drive takes place to fight spread of Coronavirus (Covid-19)
Dr. Farida Al Hosani, the spokesperson of the UAE’s Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) said that the drive would begin at 8pm today and continue till 6am on Sunday morning and added that during that time, movements will be restricted and no one should leave their home under any circumstances other than to make essential purchases of food or medicines.

STRINGENT ACTIONS
According to Brigadier Abdul Aziz Abdullah Ahmed from the Ministry of Interior spoke to the media a virtual press briefing and said, “We will restrict the movement of traffic including public transport, and private vehicles during these days. Everyone should stay at home during this period from Thursday evening until Sunday morning except for employees in active sectors.”
Warning the public that necessary deterrent measures will be taken against violators, including fines and imprisonment, according to the penal legislation issued, the Brigadier said, “All supermarkets and pharmacies will remain open during these days to provide the general public with essential food and medical supplies.”
