His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik sent a cable of condolences and sympathy to His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar on the death of his father, Late His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

His Majesty the Sultan expressed his sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathy to His Highness the Emir and  Qatari people on this great loss.

Sheikh Hamad, who ruled Qatar from 1995 to 2013, was a key architect of the country’s economic development. During his reign, the country witnessed a number of initiatives which led to its GDP growth along with social and cultural development.
