National Hospitality Institute (NHI), a leading training provider for hospitality and travel industries, has been awarded Silver accreditation against the new Investors in People standard, demonstrating their commitment to realising the potential of their people for high performance.
The standard sets a new benchmark for excellence in people management and recognises those that are outperforming in their field.
Academics, business leaders, industry experts and over a thousand leading organisations were involved in the creation of the sixth generation Investors in People Standard. NHI were amongst 52 organisations across a range of sectors and countries to be assessed against the new standard.
The Standard defines what it takes to lead, support and manage people well for sustainable results. Underpinning the Standard is the Investors in People framework. The framework reflects the latest workplace trends, essential skills and effective structures required to outperform in any industry.
Revisions have also been made to the assessment process which now includes an online assessment increasing the sample of employees involved, as well as the chance to benchmark against thousands of organisations.

This not only acts as a benchmark for our own staff but also enables NHI to advise its customers in the field of staff development.”
Pilot organisations were thanked for their commitment to Investors in People at an exclusive dinner held at the Churchill War Rooms, London, on 8th September 2015.
The sixth generation Standard was officially launched by Investors in People on 15 September at a Conference held at the Bridgewater Hall, Manchester. Key speakers included Paul Devoy, Head of IiP, Peter Cheese, CEO of the CIPD and the British cycling hero Sir Chris Hoy MBE.
Investors in People also unveiled the first ever real-time ‘People Management Dashboard’. Giving open access to their performance data. Anyone can now access a unique set of common metrics, showing the management performance of workplaces across the UK.
The NHI award was presented to His Highness Tarik Bin Shabib , Chairman of NHI by His Excellency Jonathon Wilks, British Ambassador to Oman.
