SUEZ-TRACTEBEL OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE OMAN LLC (STOMO), the leading provider of Operations and Maintenance Services for Power and Desalination Plants in the Sultanate of Oman has partnered with National Training Institute (NTI). This is one of the many steps STOMO has undertaken to bolster Omanisation. Fresh graduates are recruited and trained, and the skills of the existing Omani employees are enhanced on specific required modules of Maintenance and Operations. NTI a leading training provider within the Sultanate is a part of Babcock International Group, UK. NTI will provide technical development and up skilling training for a period of 15 months starting March ‘16. NTI has been a market leader in creating workplace competency for over 30 years by providing vocational training and employment solutions to various industries in the Sultanate.
Why NTI? Mr. Mike Maudsley, GM STOMO, said, “ STOMO being the major producer of Power and Water in Oman has to be the best in what it is doing and therefore it has to collaborate and work with the best in the industry. When it comes to providing training solutions, NTI is by far one of the best.
NTI also provides technical training to support the National Objective initiated by PDO by providing training for employment to Omani Candidates. The CEO of NTI, Lawrence Alva, said, “Companies that are looking for quality in training delivery and are serious about the development of their Omani staff are the ones that we encourage and prefer to work with. This helps the process of the Sultanate’s development as a whole.”
