Oil production dips by 0.3 per cent in Nov 2015 vis–à–vis Oct 2015
Oil production in the Sultanate of Oman registered a decline by 0.3 per cent in November 2015 as compared to the previous month.

Oil production in the Sultanate of Oman registered a decline by 0.3 per cent in November 2015 as compared to the previous month. However, oil production increased by 3.6 per cent at the end of November 2015 compared to the same period of the previous year due to the increase in oil condensate by 8.8 per cent, and crude oil by 3.1 per cent.
The decline in oil production in the Sultanate during November 2015 compared to the previous month is attributed to the decline in crude oil by 2.6 per cent, to reach 27 million barrels compared to 27.7 million barrels in October 2015. On the other hand, oil condensate increased by 27.6 per cent to reach 2.9 million barrels compared to 2.3 million barrels in the previous month.
Production of natural gas registered an increase of 5 per cent at the end of November 2015 compared to the corresponding period of 2014. It also increased by 7 per cent during November 2015 as compared to the previous month. The increase was attributed to the increase in the uses of natural gas in industrial projects by 22.1 per cent, while the uses of natural gas declined in power generation stations by 12.6 per cent, industrial areas by 5.7 per cent and oil fields by 3.6 per cent during the same period.
Refineries and petroleum products in Oman increased by 4.4 per cent at the end of November 2015 compared to the same period of 2014, due to the increase in gas oil production by 14.3 per cent, long residual by 5.8 per cent, jet fuel by 2.6 per cent, propylene by 0.9 per cent, naphtha and gasoline by 0.7 per cent for both of them. On the other hand, fuel oil fell by 5.7 per cent and liquefied petroleum gas by 2.9 per cent at the end of November 2015 compared to the same period of 2014.
