The Saudi-Oman Bilateral Relation : What Is In Store For Oman’s Economy?
Muscat: The Saudi Arabia Delegation arrived in Oman to explore various Investment and Economic Possibilities that strengthen the bilateral relations between the two countries.
Here is a glimpse of the Saudi Delegation visit.
The Saudi delegation visited the Special Economic Zone at Duqm.
“The Saudi delegation begins its visit to the Special Economic Zone at Duqm, with the aim of consolidating and expanding the base of economic relations and mutual investments, accelerating bilateral trade between the two countries and discussing the prospects for economic and investment cooperation in several vital sectors that the Sultanate enjoys through the economic and free zones,” According to Oman News Agency (ONA)
The Saudi trade delegation has visited the Wilayat of Sohar.
“Members of the Saudi trade delegation visited the Wilayat of Sohar in North Al Batinah Governorate. They were briefed on the projects and investment opportunities available in Sohar Port, the Free Zone, and Sohar Industrial City. The delegates also met businessmen in the Governorate with the aim of forming commercial partnerships in the import and export fields,” – Oman News Agency (ONA).
The Sultanate, KSA Explore Cooperation in Digital Economy
Dr. Ali Amer al-Shidhani, Communications and Information Technology Undersecretary received in his office today Dr. Ibrahim Mahmoud Babelli, Deputy Minister for Planning and Vision Realization in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).
The two sides reviewed spheres of cooperation in the digital economy field and the joint projects and initiatives. They also explored means of benefiting from the experiences of the two countries in the digital economy field.
The two sides also discussed matters of common interest and means of enhancing them for the good of the two countries
Heritage, Tourism Minister, Saudi Investment Minister Explore Areas of Cooperation
Salim Mohammed al-Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism, today received Eng. Khalid Abdulaziz al-Falih, Minister of Investment in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).
The two sides explored areas of joint investment in projects that attract GCC tourists in general and citizens of the KSA in particular. They also stressed the importance of providing necessary facilitation and exchanging expertise in the heritage and tourism sectors, as well as stimulating and promoting intra-tourism after recovery from Covid-19.
The meeting underscored the importance of a timetable to implement and activate programs and enhance cooperation between the two countries.
The two sides also discussed the memorandum of understanding to be signed soon between the two countries’ ministries of tourism, which will establish a framework and basis for cooperation between the two sides.
The MoU will cover many aspects related to exchanging experience, promoting tourism, exhibitions and joint tourism activities, as well as developing human resources in the fields of training and rehabilitation. The next phase will witness the start of holding joint workshops to agree on areas of implementation according to priorities.
The meeting was attended by Abdulsalam Mohammed al-Murshidi, Chairman of Oman Investment Authority (OIA), Ahmad Arab, Deputy Minister for Strategy and Business Intelligence at the Ministry of Tourism of Saudi Arabia, Hashel Obaid al-Mahrouqi, CEO of Oman Tourism Development Company “OMRAN” and specialists from both sides.
