Top 8 Indian Origin CEOs Dominating U.S Tech Giants

After Jack Dorsey stepped down as CEO of Twitter on Monday, Indian-American Parag Agrawal was appointed the new CEO of the microblogging platform. Several other big technology companies are being run by CEOs who are either Indian or of Indian origin, and Agrawal is the latest addition to the list.

SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk took to Twitter on Monday to praise Indian talent and said greatly it benefits the United States. He tweeted, “USA benefits greatly from Indian talent!”

He holds a PhD in computer science from Stanford University and a bachelor’s degree in computer science and engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology-Bombay.

Sundar Pichai – CEO, Google

Pichai earned his degree from IIT Kharagpur in metallurgical engineering. Moving to the United States, he attained an M.S. from Stanford University in materials science and engineering and further attained an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was named a Siebel Scholar and a Palmer Scholar, respectively.

Nadella attended the Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet before receiving a bachelor’s in electrical engineering from the Manipal Institute of Technology in Karnataka in 1988. Nadella then travelled to the U.S. to study for an M.S. in computer science at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee,[18] receiving his degree in 1990. Later, he received an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business in 1997.
