Omani Doctor Appointed As Chairperson Of MENATOX
Muscat: Dr Badria Ali Al-Hatali, Head of Toxicology Section at the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health of the Health Ministry’s Directorate General of Disease Surveillance and Control has been appointed as the Chairperson of the Middle East and North Africa Clinical Toxicology Association (MENATOX).
In a statement given by Dr Badria to the Oman News Agency; Since, the establishment of MENATOX in 2010 in the US state of Massachusetts – the association has strived to raise social and global awareness about poisons and ways to avoid them and protect society and individuals against them.
Dr Badria clarified that the MENATOX contributes to most of the research featuring clinical toxicology with a view to advance this type of medical study, facilitate the mission of the association’s members and researchers in the field and provide the best possible standards of healthcare to patients.
Dr Badria obtained her BSc in Health Sciences and PhD in Medicine from Sultan Qaboos University. She also obtained Oman Medical Specialty Board’s accreditation in Emergency Medicine in 2012 and a clinical toxicology fellowship from the University of Emory, Georgia, the United States in 2014.
