OER-BLME’s webinar on August 31 to discuss challenges facing Oman’s manufacturing sector

Industry experts will share their insights on the challenges facing Oman’s manufacturing sector at OER-BLME’s webinar on ‘Manufacturing: Negotiating the New Reality,’ on August 31.
Hussain Hathith Al Buthari, Chairman of OCCI, Dhofar branch and Head of Industry Committee, Nasser Al Malki, Director General, National Business Centre, Madayn, Eng. Said Al Rashdi, CEO, Oman Manufacturers Association, Agnello Borim, Chief Operating Officer, Sohar Aluminium, Samah AlNaamani, Brand Manager, Jotun Paints will address the webinar. Mayank Singh, Group Editor, United Media Services will moderate the session.
The webinar will discuss the impact of COVID-19 pandemic, mitigating shrinking export markets and protectionist tendencies, necessity of adopting 4.0 industrial processes and business sustainability.

The manufacturing sector in Oman is facing a host of challenges like – supply chain disruption, vanishing export markets, increased downtime, safekeeping of employees and sustaining their business as a result of COVID-19 pandemic. The disruption has necessitated adoption of Industry 4.0 initiatives such as digital transformation, smart manufacturing and flexible production. These changes will lead to process improvement, increased quality management and enhanced safety. Companies also need to open up new markets as their traditional sources of revenue are under threat. The webinar will focus on a cross section of issues impacting the manufacturing sector in Oman, solutions and the way ahead.
