Smart Dubai wins big at 2019 Stevie Awards, including a Gold for ‘Smart Employee’

Smart Dubai won big at the 2019 Stevie awards in a function held in Vienna, Austria last week.
The government entity tasked with leading Dubai’s smart transformation won one Gold, one Silver, and one Bronze with the Gold Stevie going to the organisation’s Smart Employee application in the Human Capital Management Solution category.
The Silver was won in the Business Intelligence Solution category for its Business Intelligence for HRMS service, while the organisation bagged a Bronze in Financial Services category for its Asset Tracking System (ATS)
Commenting on the win, Her Excellency Dr Aisha Bint Butti Bin Bishr, Director General of Smart Dubai said that they were honoured to have contributed to putting Dubai on the global map in the smart-city sector and going beyond that to establish the emirate as a world leader in smart cities. “These three Stevie Awards we have received are an acknowledgement of this leading position, which is the direct result of the forward-thinking vision of our wise leadership, and an affirmation that we are on the right path to achieve our mission to make Dubai the world’s happiest and smartest city, she said.
The Smart Dubai initiative was founded based on Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s vision make Dubai the smartest city on earth using innovations in technology.
In a YouGov research published in April this year, 82% of people in the UAE said that they thought the Initiative will not only make Dubai a world-leading city it would also make it the happiest city in the world.
Dubai is seamlessly implementing its Paperless Strategy with all government entities now providing its consumer services through the DubaiNow app. The app currently provides 88 government services and has already facilitated transactions worth AED 4bn.
