His Majesty The Sultan Presides Over National Employment Program Meeting
Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik presided over the meeting of the Supervisory Committee of the National Employment Program (NEP), conducted today, at Al Baraka Palace. His Majesty reviewed the challenges facing the employment of the Omani youth and examined the current situation of the labour market, indicators associated with it and the government efforts.
The official statement released stated, “Within the context of the Royal keenness on the issue of the employment of Omani job seekers and with considering it among national priorities of the government, His Majesty has presided over the meeting of the Supervisory Committee of the National Employment Programme.”
His Majesty examined the situation on ground with respect to employment and bolstered employment opportunities through a package of approved initiatives that provide job opportunities in the government sector, both civil, military and private sector firms.
In addition, His Majesty was briefed on the plans of the National programme, its work methodology and its key goals during the upcoming stages.
His Majesty has directed the government and private sectors to cooperate with each other, back up the national programme so it can speed up the study of the challenges facing this issue thus, enabling the government to set plans and programmes to employ the Job seekers and to provide job opportunities in all sectors in a sustainable manner that go in line with the orientations of Oman Vision 2040.
