ODB Finances RO 52 Million Worth Tourist Projects

Ayoub bin Sulaiman al-Subhi, Manager of Oman Development Bank (ODB), Nizwa Branch, said that the tourism sector got 24 percent of the bank’s loan portfolio, which stood at RO 151 million. He added that the share of tourism sector in the past nine years is RO 52 million in all governorates of the Sultanate, which financed about 610 projects.
This came during the Investment Opportunities Forum (Tourism Development) organized by ODB (Nizwa Branch) in the Wilayat of Manah in the Governorate of A’Dakhliya. Al-Subhi pointed out that the ODB Nizwa branch financed in the tourism sector during the same period 57 projects, with total worth of RO 4,225,000 in hotels, hotel apartments, greenhouses and guesthouses.
The forum aims to discuss tourism investment in the Governorate of A’Dakhiliyah. The forum introduced the participants to a variety of tourist potentials in the governorate, in addition to reviewing the most important tourist projects that can be set up in the governorate.
