Geely Auto Group Introduces New Design Studio

Geely introduces new design studio and appoints leading designer Wayne Burgess as Vice President of Geely Design UK
Muscat, Oman: Geely Auto Group recently introduced a new design and innovation studio in Coventry, the heart of the British automotive hub and has appointed leading British designer Wayne Burgess as Vice President and Head of Design for Geely Design UK.
In the next five years, Geely Design UK plans for its expansion to include around 100 designers and support staff and will be tasked with supporting the in-house design functions of Geely Auto Group and its portfolio of brands. This will include Geely Auto, LYNK & CO, PROTON, Lotus, as well as the London Electric Vehicle Company (LEVC).
A global network of design studios that support Geely Auto Group, Geely Design has studios in locations like Shanghai, Gothenburg, Barcelona, California, and the newly established studio in Coventry, UK.
As of now, Geely Design has over 900 members of staff and a network that is well positioned to support Geely Auto Group’s portfolio of brands owing to its strong international appeal and global input.
Speaking on the newly established design studio and on the appointment of Wayne Burgess, Peter Horbury, the Executive Vice President of Design for Geely Auto Group, said, “The addition of Geely Design UK showcases Geely’s commitment to the UK and also shows Britain’s leading position in the areas of creativity and design. Wayne brings with him a wealth of experience in premium car design which will help us develop our brands.”
Wayne Burgess, Vice President of Geely Design UK, said, “Geely Design has moved quickly to establish itself over the past five years, growing to become one of the strongest teams in the automotive design field. I am looking forward to working closely with Peter and the wider Geely Design team.”
In Oman, Geely is represented by Towell Auto Centre (TAC), known for their tried-and-tested vehicles, prompt service and up to 97% parts availability. With a network of 10 showrooms, 12 service outlets and 10 parts outlets, TAC is one of the leading automobile distributors in the Sultanate of Oman.
Customers can experience the new world of Geely at any one of the TAC showrooms which are open from 8.30 am to 1 pm and a new afternoon timing of 3.30 pm to 7.30 pm, from Saturday to Thursday.
