Digitalization is key to the oil and gas sector growth in Oman: Siemens

Siemens highlighted technology’s ability to reduce production and operations costs within Oman’s oil and gas sector at the Oil & Gas West Asia Exhibition and Conference in Muscat. The company demonstrated how continued efforts within the Sultanate to embrace advanced technologies in the oil and gas industry will be a contributing factor in weathering the current climate of low oil prices.
Due to the current industry landscape in Oman, companies are increasingly interested in technology that will optimize production capacity at lower costs. The Siemens portfolio addresses exactly that; using software, sensors, process automation and data analytics to drive efficiency and increase reliability across the value chain,” said Markus Strohmeier, Chief Executive Officer, Siemens Oman.
Siemens has been a development partner to Oman for more than 40 years. The company’s full portfolio of products and solutions is present in the Sultanate, from power generation and distribution to building technology, mobility and healthcare. Siemens technology has been widely implemented in Oman and the company has contributed to the continued development of the oil and gas industry with highly efficient technology including compressors, power generators and gas and steam turbines.
