Jumeirah Group Launches ‘french Riviera Pop-up’ at Jumeirah Al Qasr – Its Third Beachfront Mediterranean Restaurant
Jumeirah Group has launched a brand-new pop-up dining experience on the stunning oceanfront at Jumeirah Al Qasr – French Riviera.
Serving up a mix of classic and modern French Mediterranean food, bursting with freshness and designed for sharing, the new gastronomic experience is an innovative addition to the Group’s collection of Dubai beachfront restaurants and its third Mediterranean concept.
Joining the much-loved Rockfish (Italian) and Shimmers (Greek), French Riviera is an exciting addition to the Dubai culinary scene as restrictions continue to ease and people look for unique dining-out options.
Set against the backdrop of mesmerising views of the clear azure waters of the Arabian Gulf and nestled on the pristine beach at Jumeirah Al Qasr next to Shimmers, French Riviera offers the ultimate beach lifestyle experience, reminiscent of the Cote D’Azur.
Whether choosing to sit indoors or out, guests can soak up the convivial atmosphere while delighting in mouth-watering flavours from the South of France as the restaurant’s French team creates ‘une expérience gastronomique’ that will transport diners to the glamourous Mediterranean coast, from St-Tropez to Monte-Carlo.
At the helm of French Riviera is one of the world’s most innovative chefs, and former culinary pioneer at Burj Al Arab Jumeirah’s Skyview Bar & Restaurant, Chef Kim Joinié-Maurin. The Frenchman worked with the world famous, multi-Michelin star French chef, Joël Robuchon, for more than a decade, and brings a wealth of experience in French cooking that is reflected in French Riviera’s tantalising menu. Bringing together traditional and forward-thinking techniques with delicious Mediterranean flavours, the menu includes Red Tuna Crudo with Black Truffle Petals, fresh octopus cooked over a wood fire and the delightfully French Dover Sole ‘Meuniere’ with Crushed Potatoes. There is also a selection of tasty pasta dishes such as the Half Lobster with Homemade Linguine, while meat lovers can tuck into the restaurant’s signature Wood Fire Beef Entrecote with Green Pepper Sauce. To end the experience on a sweet note, guests can choose between a variety of dessert options that will transport them right back to childhood, including the succulent Madagascar Vanille Mille-Feuille with Brown Butter Ice Cream, French toast “Crème Brulée” Style or Pineapple Tatin Tart.
Michael Ellis, Chief Culinary Officer at Jumeirah Group and former Michelin Guide Global Director, said: “The South of France has an endearing quality about it, and for many people who have experienced it in the flesh, the word Riviera is evocative of a magical world; the beautiful scenery, bright blue sky, deep azure sea and some of the world’s most delicious and sensual gastronomic delights. I had the pleasure of living and working in the French Riviera for over a decade, which was an unforgettable experience. My memories are still fresh; stunning coastal fishing villages, fabulous farmer’s markets offering incredible local products such as just-caught fish, superb fruits and vegetables, and all of the rich fragrances of locally grown spices and seasonings that make the Riviera truly unique. Jumeirah’s newest dining incarnation, French Riviera, will transport you to this place of unmatched tastes and sensations. A place where the simple is transformed into the sublime, and where guests
re-connect with each other and the beauty of their surroundings, while sharing special moments over fantastic food.”
French Riviera will be hosting a “Bleu, Blanc, Rouge” brunch every Friday and Saturday from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. for guests to dine and enjoy its classically French vibes and delicious South of France flavours. Packages start at AED 295, and at AED 395 the package includes a rich cocktail menu served with exceptional generosity.
