Ahlibank Participates In The 18th Annual Walkathon Of The Omani Cancer Association
Muscat: In line with its Corporate Social Responsibility, and as part of its ‘ahli cares’ initiative, ahlibank joined the Oman Cancer Association in its 18th annual Walkathon to raise awareness on Cancer prevention in general and Breast Cancer in particular under the slogan (Towards life), aiming to support Cancer patients, survivors and their families.
Since its inception in 2013, the walkathon has garnered the support of more than 8000 participants who walk together to raise funds and awareness on Cancer prevention in support of the Association, encouraging volunteerism and community engagement, giving a sense of togetherness to those affected by Cancer; the event saw participation from companies from various sectors, schools, universities, families, social clubs, and many other individual and organizational volunteers.
Speaking on the sidelines of the Walkathon, Jumana Aflah Al Hashmi, ahlibank’s Deputy Head of Marketing & Corporate Communications, said: “We are proud of the ahlibank team members who joined this noble cause and also encouraged each other to participate in the walkathon, seeing the community come together and garner support in an uplifting and beneficial way is inspiring.”
“Annually, a large number of ahlibank employees participate in various initiatives to showcase our commitment to the community in which we operate. Such support for community impact programs falls under the bank’s “ahli cares” initiative, and is in line with our values and a people-first approach. We are honored to be able to be a part of the walkathon demonstrating our support to the cause” she added.
From its suite of Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, ahlibank has always been committed to giving back to the community through its ahli cares initiative which aims to enhance social values and serve humanitarian causes, while bringing about positive change through multi-sectoral partnerships.
