Voltamp Power and TATUNG sign a technological collaboration agreement

Voltamp Power has recently signed technology collaboration with TATUNG of Taiwan for related to 220 kV and 400 kV Class Power Transformers which will involve Technical documents, Designs documents, Software for Design and Plant Design Information for Power Transformers. Agreement has been signed by  Eng. Ahmed Al Subhi , Director on behalf of Voltamp Power LLC and Mr. Frank Shiue, Vice President on behalf of Tatung Co. in Taiwan. With this Voltamp has extended and upgraded its capability for design and manufacture of 220 kV Class and 400 kV Class Power Transformers. The collaboration enables developing of methods and collaborative work environments based on the latest technology.

Voltamp Power is the first and the only one who have designed, manufactured, tested and supplied 160 MVA, 125 MVA of 132 kV Class Power Transformers in the GCC Region with an Annual capacity of 6,500 MVA.

Voltamp Power has type tested its 125 MVA 132 kV Class and 20 MVA 33 kV Class Power Transformers at KEMA, Netherlands proving its design and manufacturing capability.

Voltamp Power Transformers has already supplied more than 100 Nos. of 132 kV Class Powers Transformers which includes about 60 Nos. of 125 MVA 132/33 kV Power Transformers for various Projects of Oman Electricity Transmission Company (OETC) and 40 Nos. of various ratings up to 160 MVA to Power Plants and Oil & Gas Sector viz. Petroleum Development of Oman (PDO), a Shell Company.

Earlier in October 2011, Voltamp Power’s Suhar Factory was formally inaugurated by H.H. Sayyid Shihab bin Tariq Al Said and ever since supplied more than 500 Nos. Power Transformers of various ratings up to 160 MVA 132 kV Class Power Transformers across the Sultanate of Oman, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain and Yemen to various customers in Utility, Oil & Gas and Industry segments.

Voltamp Power has one of its kind, World Class manufacturing factory to the latest global standard.which has a built up area of 14,500 sq m on a total plot of 80,000 sqm. The Technology provided for the Plant are the Tatung Company of Taiwan. Tatung is a well respected and diversified company, with products which include Heavy Electric products like Gas Insulated Switchgears, Transformers up to 1000 MVA 500 kV Class, Wires & Cables, Motors that are exported all over the world including Japan, USA and Australia.

Voltamp’s vision is to become a major contributor in the Power Sector of Middle East and Africa region by offering quality product and solutions thereby to maximize wealth to stakeholders.

Voltamp’s mission is to be a manufacturing hub for Power Transformers in the Generation, Transmission and Distribution Networks, thereby providing total solutions towards and meeting the requirements of the Power systems in the Middle East and North Africa region.

The Machinery and equipments for the Power Transformer Plant have been sourced from the World’s best known vendors like HAEFELY, Switzerland, DELU, Germany, HIPOTRONICS, USA, and LOOTAH LEMMENS, Germany.

The collaboration is particularly beneficial to the GCC Region of manufacturing World Class Products at local competitive prices” explains Engineer Hasan Abdawani, CEO of Voltamp. Voltamp’s endeavor has been to offer European Quality at local prices with qualified and trained local service backup.

Voltamp Energy SAOG is a public company incorporated in the Sultanate of Oman and listed on the Muscat Securities Market. It currently produces a large range of power and distribution transformers, low / medium voltage switchgear and package sub-stations through its 5 manufacturing units located in Rusayl and Suhar. It also provides Engineering services for installation, supervision of erection, testing and commissioning plus supply of spares and capability to repair and refurbish Transformers of any make, type and year of manufacture.
