Muscat: Continuing to mobilize for the sake of the community, Salalah-based PET packaging manufacturer, OCTAL, has announced its latest round of relief efforts for Oman’s Ministry of Health as it combats the current wave of COVID-19. Donating vital medical equipment to Sultan Qaboos Hospital in Salalah, as part of a series of contributions the company has made since the beginning of the pandemic, OCTAL continues to explore ways to add value to the country that extend beyond manufacturing.

Since March 2020, OCTAL has donated to the Ministry of Health’s COVID-19 Fund, sponsored the purchasing of medical equipment, and utilized its state-of-the-art facility in Salalah to provide key raw material free for medical face shields to meet the requirements of the health sector in addition to manufacturing hand sanitizer for free company-wide distribution. The company has also extended its support to various charitable initiatives focused on the young generation of Omanis, including purchasing laptops for students at Omani Bahjah Orphan Society, sponsoring a youth leadership program in collaboration with Creative People Solutions, and purchasing security cameras and outdoor shades for government schools.

OCTAL’s Director of Government Affairs Eng. Ahmed Al Najjar said, “The pandemic continues to impact us all, and, as part of OCTAL’s ongoing commitment to the community, we are directing our efforts towards fighting it wherever and however possible, whether financially, by re-directing our resources or simply by ensuring that our 600-strong staff force continues to work safely.
