Fiber optic sensing is a powerful addition to the underground lab: Trey Lowe of Devon Energy
Trey Lowe, Completions Engineering Manager at Devon Energy, made a presentation at Muscat on 10th Feb 2016 as part of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Distinguished Lecturer (DL) series. In his presentation, he concluded that fiber optic sensing is a powerful addition to the ‘underground laboratory’ and is being used to optimize fracturing models. He also said that the integration of advanced fracture monitoring are a clear path to optimized well spacing, landing interval and completion design.
