Residence card renewal services in the Sultanate will be temporarily suspended on account of the Oman Chamber of Commerce & Industry (OCCI) elections that are slated to take place on Tuesday, 22 November 2022.
The Royal Oman Police (ROP) stated in a tweet: “The Royal Oman Police announces to all citizens and residents that the issuance, renewal, or replacement of national ID cards and resident cards will be suspended on Tuesday, 22 November 2022, to coincide with the date of voting for the elections of Board of Directors of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI).”
The ROP has, however, stated that it will issue birth and death certificates to citizens and residents on the day.
