Omantel launches excellence awards for SME sector
Omantel, the leading telecommunications provider in the Sultanate, announced on Tuesday the launch of the 4th edition of Business Excellence SME Awards.
Omantel, the leading telecommunications provider in the Sultanate, announced on Tuesday the launch of the 4th edition of Business Excellence SME Awards.
The nominations are open for the awards in six categories: Best Performing Company – Small Enterprise; Best Performing Company – Medium Enterprise; Best New Entrant; Turnaround Success Story of the Year; Community Contribution; and, Business Idea of the Year.
Talking about the initiative, Todd Dick, vice-president of Omantel Corporate said, “our initiative will recognise the rising stars in the SME segment in Oman, and will celebrate young entrepreneurs who have made their mark by rewarding and recognising those who practice excellence, and make it a habit. Over the last 12 months, we worked closely with different stakeholders to ensure that the needs of this important sector of our economy are better understood and we are glad to offer services that are specially tailored to meet the needs of the SMEs.”
“The SME is an important sector that is expected to play a significant role in realising the economic growth plans and help in creating more jobs and entrepreneurship opportunities for young Omanis,” said Huda Abdullah Al Habsi, general manager of Marketing at Omantel Corporate.
