Oman Snags Award For Best Film On Combating Cybercrime
Muscat: The Sultanate, represented by the Royal Oman Police (ROP), won the Arab World’s cybersecurity film prize that focused on the production of public awareness films on cybersecurity and crime control on Wednesday, March 17, 2021.
This year, the competition focused on deepening security awareness among citizens and encouraging them to participate and contribute to the country’s crime control.
The Arab Word contest focused mainly on five major areas: controlling terrorism and extremism, use of narcotics and psychotropic substances, cyber control, human rights protection, and enhancing traffic safety.
Apart from establishing the hazards of cybercrimes, the ROP also emphasises on cooperation with private sector establishments to tackle the crisis.
The Arab World competition was organised by the General Secretariat of Arab Interior Ministers on the sidelines of the 44th Conference of Arab Police and Security leaders held via a video conference stream from the General Secretariat Headquarters in Tunis.
