Investcorp to launch $100mn fund for Omani Pension Funds
Investcorp, a leading global provider and manager of alternative investments, will launch a $100 million fund dedicated to Oman’s Pension Funds. The Opportunities Fund (the Fund), was announced at an event hosted by the Ministry of Defence Pension Fund in Muscat. The event, which gathered several senior representatives from the Sultanate’s other pension funds, discussed the latest trends and opportunities in the global private equity market.
The Fund will be focused on private equity investments in the US and Europe, targeting mid-sized companies across a broad range of sectors.
“Oman is an important market for Investcorp and we are committed to playing an active role in supporting the development of its economy. This commitment was reiterated earlier this year when we held our Board of Directors meeting for the first time here. It is also reaffirmed through our continuing collaboration with the Ministry of Defence Pension Fund, Mohammed Alardhi, executive chairman of Investcorp, said.
“Our strong relationships with Omani pension funds allows us to develop investment solutions that are tailored to their specific ambitions. The new Opportunities Fund is an example of how we utilise our strong track record in two of the largest markets in the world, the US and Europe, and our experience in servicing investors across the GCC,” he said.
