International Heavy Equipment (IHE), the authorised distributor of Eicher Trucks & Buses, a business division of VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd. (VECV), in Oman, organised the Eicher School Bus Safety Initiative to raise awareness among young students about responsible and safe school bus travel.

As part of the initiative, the team organised interactive awareness sessions for Class 4 students at Firq School in Nizwa and Seeh Al Barakat School in Manah. Through engaging activities and discussions, students learned essential practices that support safer, more responsible school bus journeys. The sessions encouraged positive travel behaviour, including following instructions, remaining seated while the bus is in motion, using safety equipment appropriately, and acting responsibly throughout the journey.

Students also took part in a colouring competition to reinforce key learnings, with 12 students recognised for their creativity and participation. As a symbol of their commitment to responsible travel, students took a School Bus Safety Pledge, reinforcing the importance of shared responsibility in ensuring safe journeys for all.

Commenting on the initiative, Sohraab Hasnain, General Manager of IHE, said, “We believe that safety awareness begins at an early age. Through the Eicher School Bus Safety Initiative, we aim to equip students with the knowledge and habits that can help make every school journey safer. We are proud to extend this initiative beyond major cities to regional communities across Oman, working together with schools, educators and students to build a stronger culture of road and school bus safety.”

The initiative reflects Eicher Trucks and Buses’ ongoing commitment to supporting safe and reliable student transportation through product innovation and community engagement programmes. In Oman, Eicher’s school bus portfolio includes the Eicher Skyline Pro 3008 H (35-seater) and Eicher Skyline 20.15 (57–65-seater), equipped with advanced safety technologies designed to meet the transportation requirements of educational institutions across the Sultanate.
