Happy New Year 2020! Celebrations Across World Usher In New Decade

Revelers across the world bid adieu to 2019 and welcomed 2020 with fireworks, party and music. Tonga, Kiritimat and Australia were among the first nations to usher in the new decade while United States of America among the last.
In the Middle East, over a million people descended on the streets and events to ring in the new year.

In UAE, spectacular fireworks in several locations rang in the new year. The epicentre of the celebrations was Dubai’s Burj Khalifa.

Thousands descended near Burj Khalifa to watch the lights and fireworks. Massive traffic ensued on Jumeirah Beach Road as people their way out after the celebrations.

Dazzling new year fireworks were also witnessed in other Emirates. People thronged to watch the lights and fire at Abu Dhabi Corniche and Al Majaz Waterfront in Sharjah.

Thousands lined up the Thames as London kicked off the new decade to style. Around 2,000 fireworks set off during the display were fired from the London Eye. The Big Ben rang out 12 times to mark the start of the new year.
