Bank Muscat celebrates role of women in development of nation
Bank Muscat, the flagship financial services provider in the Sultanate, in step with its ‘Let’s Do More’ vision and commitment to partnership in women empowerment initiatives, celebrated the Omani Women’s Day with a series of activities.

Bank Muscat, the flagship financial services provider in the Sultanate, in step with its ‘Let’s Do More’ vision and commitment to partnership in women empowerment initiatives, celebrated the Omani Women’s Day with a series of activities.
A festive atmosphere prevailed at the head office and branches where women employees extended the hand of friendship and traditional Omani hospitality to colleagues and women customers in appreciation of the valuable contributions of women to the family, society and nation.
The highlights of the celebrations included a workshop on ‘work-life balance’ organised at the head office addressed by Dr. Yasmin Al Balushi, Assistant Dean Support & Student Affairs, College of Banking & Financial Studies.
The celebrations attended by members of the Management Team and senior bank officials echoed praise and appreciation of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said for the support extended to Omani women in all spheres, especially the designation of a day in honour of Omani woman and the excellent position women enjoy in society.
AbdulRazak Ali Issa, Chief Executive, said: “As the nation’s leading bank, Bank Muscat firmly believes that the development of Oman significantly hinges on the role played by women, alongside male counterparts. The bank acknowledges that education and training play a key role in women empowerment. Women are assuming more key responsibilities and senior positions within the bank and their contributions are significant to the bank’s success.”
AbdulRazak Ali Issa added: “Bank Muscat enjoys the distinction of being the best place to work and a great deal of this achievement is owing to the healthy work-life balance maintained by employees, especially women employees. The bank is committed to promoting the cherished Omani family values integral to the social development in Oman.”
With women comprising a major customer segment, Bank Muscat offers unique products and services targeted at them. Offering banking excellence, Bank Muscat enriches women’s life at different levels. al Wathbah, the bank’s SME department, has launched various programmes for skill development of women, especially women entrepreneurs.
The bank’s women empowerment strategy is notable with more than 47 per cent of employees comprising women holding various positions, including senior management positions.
Bank Muscat is committed to developing its leadership pool from among young Omanis, thereby contributing to Oman’s future by investing in talent which is the real wealth of the nation.
