Production of refined petroleum products in Oman grew 2.6 per cent to 70.7 million barrels for the first ten months of 2015, from 68.93 million barrels for the same period of last year.
The daily production of Mena Al Fahal and Sohar refineries of Oman Oil Refineries and Petroleum Industries Company (Orpic) reaches 222,000 barrels of crude oil to be converted to naphtha, polypropylene, liquefied petroleum gas, gasoline, diesel, fuel oil, jet fuel and residue production, according to statistics released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).
The statistics, based on the Orpic data, showed that the products included the regular gasoline and the premium gasoline. The production of regular gasoline reached 1,767,000 barrels, showing a decline of 41.7 per cent compared to the same period in 2014, which reached 3,028,500 barrels of regular gasoline.
The production of the premium gasoline reached 19,187,800 barrels, comprising an increase of 5.7 per cent in comparison with the same period in 2014, which reached 18,154,000.
The Sultanate produced 4,205,100 barrels of jet fuel, comprising a rise by 3.8 per cent compared to October 2014, which reached 4,052,100 barrels.
The production of diesel increased by 14.6 per cent to reach 18,250,500 barrels, compared with 15,926,600 barrels at the end of October 2014. The Omani production of fuel oil reached 2,055,900 barrels, a decline of 2.9 per cent compared with the same period in 2014, which reached 2,118,000 barrels.
The production of liquefied petroleum gas reached 3,072,500 barrels, showing a decline of 4.2 per cent compared with the same period in 2014, which reached 3,207,700 barrels.
Residue production declined by 0.8 per cent in October 2015 to record 16,019,500 barrels compared to 16,147,300 barrels in October 2014.
Polypropylene production reached 2,238,700 barrels, comprising a rise with 0.2 per cent, compared to October 2014, which stood at 2,233,700 barrel.
The production of Naphtha reached 3,245,200 barrels, comprising a rise by 4.9 per cent compared to October 2014, which stood at 3,094,700 barrels.
The production of other products, fuel and uses of the refinery reached 658,900 barrels, comprising a decline with 23 per cent compared to the same period in 2014, which stood at 969,100 barrels.
The premium gasoline comprised 28 per cent of total production of refineries and petroleum industries in the Sultanate in 2014 while diesel production comprised 25 per cent, followed by residue production with 23 per cent.
