Showing its ongoing commitment and dedication to ‘Best Customer Experience’, Zawawi Trading Company (ZTC), the authorized Distributor for Mercedes-Benz in Oman, recently held the Salalah edition of its Field Force Initiative. Developed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of customer fleets, the week-long event consisted of a Workshop Open Day, Fleet Checks, and a Customer Conference. The week culminated in the presentation of two new medium duty trucks: the Atego and the Accelo, and Actros PowerShift to the Dhofar region.
“Field Force is an integrated customer service concept created to help our fleet customers keep their vehicles in optimum condition and thereby minimize downtime, giving a sound basis for their operational planning,” explained Daniel Fitzjohn, General Manager – Commercial Vehicles, ZTC.
He added: “Field Force Salalah was a great success. Not only did our customers receive the care and attention they need directly on their premises but they were also introduced to our three fantastic new trucks – two medium-sized vehicles the Atego and the Accelo, and the new edition of the region’s favourite transport solution, the Actros Powershift with automatic transmission.”
The Field Force event had a packed schedule with the first day including a maintenance briefing, facility tour and driver assessment at the Mercedes-Benz Salalah 3S facility for customers, their drivers and technicians. This was followed by driver assessments, and on-site training with a focus on defensive and economic driving, delivered by a Daimler certified instructor.
Over the course of three days ZTC and Daimler highly trained expert technicians carried out on-site Fleet Checks at Salalah Mills, Majan Mining, Global Mining, Oman Gulf and Oman Building & Contracting Company. After in-depth vehicle checks, screening and diagnostic procedures, maintenance and repair advice and instructions were shared with the customer’s technicians and special package prices were offered on repairs and parts. Fleet drivers also had the opportunity to avail of further skills booster sessions.
Launched at the Field Force Customer Conference and Networking event was the new Atego, a medium-sized truck that brings added value, dedication and efficiency to distribution transport. The new Atego was accompanied by the Accelo, a versatile vehicle with a five tonne payload. Also showcased during the evening was the new Actros Powershift with automatic transmission. Built in Germany and at home in the Middle East, the Actros rises to the toughest challenges of terrain and temperature with everything from the double-plate clutch to the climate control system designed with safety and comfort in mind.
The award-winning Mercedes-Benz range of trucks – Actros, Atego, Accelo and Zetros – are the most cost effective in the mid to heavy segment when it comes to total cost of ownership. Each truck is built, developed and tested for unbeatable performance in every environment and designed for versatility and flexibility.
