This US$390 million investment will see the Omani culture blend with the new age infrastructure. The makeover for the existing Sultan Qaboos Port will reflect the Arabic influence coupled with modern architectures. While the tourists will get to experience the Muttrah Souq charm, the surroundings will encompass premium residential, commercial and entertainment facilities.
A beach retreat – Jumeirah Muscat Bay Oman
Considering the rise in the number of visitors in the Sultanate, there are several hotels ready to open in 2019. One such project to look forward is the Jumeirah Muscat Bay. Located at Saraya Bandar Jissah, the five-star property will overlook the Arabian Sea. A luxury retreat on the waterfront, this one of its kind resorts will attract travelers from all over the world.

The big leap – Special Economic Zone @ Duqm
Investors have lined up to invest heavily in Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Duqm. The natural reserves, scenic wadis and gigantic mountains have paved the way for approximately 20 tourism projects. A robust tourism infrastructure plan has already been initiated for this region.

The inspiration for urban innovation – Madinat Al Irfan
Nicknamed as the City of the Future, Madinat Al Irfan is one ambitious project that will compliment the Sultanate’s dream to become a tourist hub in the gulf. A step towards building a smart city, with state-of-the-art infrastructure, this project will comprise everything from residential and healthcare facilities to a convention centre and five-star hotels. A 5 billion Rial project by Majid al Futtaim and Oman Tourism Development Company (OMRAN), this property spans over 250,000 square metres.

Finally its here – JW Marriott Hotel
J W Marriott Hotel will open its first boutique hotel in Oman. This will be located in the heart of the Madinat al Irfan development. It will consist of 305 rooms and feature over 1,200 square metres of premium facilities. Another milestone in the attempt to promote tourism, Oman is sure to emerge as a sought-after tourist destination in the days to come.
