Maiden Bond Issuance by OQ In International Markets
Muscat: In a bid to diversify funding, OQ recently announced the launch of their maiden bond issuances, in the international debt capital markets.
This comes as part of a series of affirmative actions by OQ to expand its presence on the international stage and garner more investors.
The CEO of OQ, Tall Al Awfi remarked that “The execution of the bond is a great success for both OQ and Oman. It comes in line with the best global investment practices and aims to meet OQ’s funding requirements. It also emphasises OQ’s presence as a global energy player and the trust we have amongst the global investors.”
The CFO, Nazar Al Lawati also commented about the launch of the bonds, stating, “In line with our financial strategy for 2021, we are very pleased to announce that OQ has successfully executed its inaugural bond issuance in the international debt capital markets, with strong participation from investors and financial institutions from around the world.”
This move is seen by the group as a step further to cement OQ’s presence on the global stage. They predict that this move will establish OQ as a leading player in the energy sector and, further contribute to the success of Oman’s economy.
