Under the patronage of HE Sheikh Khalid bin Omar Al Marhoon, Minister of Civil Service, Ooredoo celebrated the graduation of 182 female public sector employees from the world renowned Springboard programme.
The graduates received their certificates during a ceremony held at the Grand Hyatt Muscat, where the top three trainees groups were also recognised for their participation, dedication, and hard work throughout the programme.
A collaboration between Ooredoo and the British Council, Springboard is a course designed to empower Oman’s female workforce. This years’ graduates come from multiple government agencies and sectors across the Sultanate, who were taught essential management skills, soft skills, communication, self-empowerment, and public speaking, to name but a few.
Raed Dawood, Director of Government Relations and Corporate Affairs, said, “Omani women play an integral role in the national workforce and it is essential that we support them however we can. Ooredoo has always been at the forefront of economically empowering women through initiatives that champion growth and social development. The continued success of the Springboard programme is a result of our commitment to nurture the careers and capabilities of Omani women and help them achieve their aspirations. This particular programme also highlights our strong relationship with the government sector and our desire to continue to work closely with them.”
He added, “Today’s ceremony is an important milestone that we are proud to be a part of. The 182 women that graduated will be heading back to their respective jobs with enhanced skillsets and greater potential, enabling them to excel both inside and outside of the workplace.”
Globally recognised as a landmark women’s programme, Springboard has successfully trained over 175,000 women in 22 countries and been translated into 12 different languages. Spearheading the programme in the Sultanate, Ooredoo signed several Memorandums of Understanding over the last two years to conduct the training for both private and public sector employees and to date has graduated over 362 since debuting in 2014.
