The Spirit of Ramadan Celebrated by Sohar International Staff
Sohar International recently hosted its annual staff Iftar gathering at Kempinski Hotel Muscat. Attended by employees from all branches across Oman, the event aimed at strengthening the values of camaraderie and harmony in line with the spirit of togetherness of the holy month of Ramadan, and encouraging open dialogue between staff from all executive levels and backgrounds.
Addressing the staff at the event, Mr. Ahmed Al Musalmi Chief Executive Officer commended the hard work and commitment of the employees towards the success of Sohar International: “Our employees are the cornerstone of our accomplishments and the most valuable investments we can make that ensure our consistent growth and winning in the long run.” Al Musalmi said “We believe that building a winning culture starts from within by constantly engaging with our people and creating inspiring moments for them. Staff gatherings are very powerful platforms towards this objective, where we get to collectively exhibit Sohar International’s winning personality of being Sharp, Human and Unstoppable in all our interactions. These are precious moments to continue appreciating and recognizing the tremendous efforts made by our staff while aligning ourselves towards our common vision to become a world-leading Omani service company that helps customers, communities, and people to prosper and grow!”
In keeping with the bank’s successful #WinningTogether CSR campaign on social media, a staff donation drive was also a part of the Iftar’s festivities. Organized in coordination with Al Rahma Association, the collected amounts will be allocated to underprivileged families. The evening further saw a number of entertaining activities and fun-filled competitions between staff.
In addition to the staff Iftar gathering, Sohar International has organized a number of staff engagement activities during Ramadan in order to build relationships and motivate the bank’s staff towards ‘winning’, while helping others do the same. The initiatives included a football tournament, a volunteering campaign to deliver food essentials to underprivileged families across the nation, and recently Qaranqasho celebrations for staff and their families. The Qaranqasho was held at the Bank’s new head-office in Waterfront in Shatti Al Qurum, and saw a variety of entertainment programs such as games, cartoon characters and more, that celebrated the spirit of Qaranqasho, and were specially organized for the children that were in attendance.
