Oman’s Mobile Broadband Internet Subscribers Up By 10 Percent
Statistics issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) show that the total number of subscriptions of fixed line phones fixed with Internet Protocol Technology (IPT) grew by 7.4 percent, while the number of mobile broadband internet subscribers rose by 10 percent as at the end of June 2023, compared to the corresponding period in 2022.
The number of IPT fixed line phone subscriptions stood at 275,117, while the number of prepaid and postpaid fixed-line subscriptions went down by 11.8 percent to 230,338.
The statistics also show that the number of mobile phone subscriptions by the end of June 2023 rose by 12.4 percent and stood at 7mn (7,021,389). The number of prepaid mobile phone subscriptions constituted the largest segment of subscribers (5,289,594 lines), with an increase of 10 percent until the end of June 2023.
The number of active mobile broadband Internet subscriptions stood at 5,937,159.
