PDO Offers Over 250 Training and Employment Opportunities For Omanis

Muscat: Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), in cooperation with the Ministry of Labour, today signed agreements with seven contracting companies to provide training coupled with employment to hone the skills of more than 250 Omanis and employ them in various positions.
The memoranda of cooperation, which comes within the framework of “Imdad” initiative of PDO, were signed via videoconferencing under the patronage of Dr. Said Hamad Al Rubaie, President of the University of Technology and Applied Sciences.
Under these agreements, the trainees will be guaranteed upon successful completion of the training programs, which extend from 10 to 18 months, to get jobs with the Arabian Industries Company, the Special Technical Services (STS) Company, MB Petroleum Services Company, Shaher United Trading and Contracting Company, Al Ghalbi International Engineering and Contracting Company, Zawawi Powertech Engineering Company, and Carillion Alawi Company.
Steve Phimister, Managing Director of Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), said that in 2021, the company’s “Imdad” program was able to create more than 3,000 job and training opportunities for Omanis within the oil and gas sector.
