Orpic awards warehouse contract to Omani SME
In keeping with its promise to support and develop Omani Small & Medium Enterprises (SME’s) and as part of its strong commitment to maximise the In Country Value (ICV), Orpic recently signed an important project contract with Al Batina International Engineering & Services LLC for Warehouse Facilities Improvement at its premises in Sohar Industrial Port.
In keeping with its promise to support and develop Omani Small & Medium Enterprises (SME’s) and as part of its strong commitment to maximise the In Country Value (ICV), Orpic recently signed an important project contract with Al Batina International Engineering & Services LLC for Warehouse Facilities Improvement at its premises in Sohar Industrial Port. One of the important multi-million contracts signed with a local SME based out of North Al Batinah region, this contract aptly projects Orpic’s promise in developing national capabilities. Orpic believes in creating opportunities for local SME’s by ring fencing tenders as well as through its main contractors by identifying suitable scope of work for SMEs.
Ibrahim Al Kalbani, Manager, Procurement, Contracting & Inventory (PCI), Orpic said: “From all the bids received, Al Batina International Engineering & Services LLC, was not just technically qualified but also offered the most competitive commercial bid. Orpic always encourages the participation of local qualified SME’ because we firmly believe in the In-Country Value proposition. Through this partnership, we believe that the company will be able to create employment for Omanis, provide goods and services by Omani suppliers in Oman which in turn will add value to Oman. Awarding of this contract reaffirms our pledge to support and develop local SMEs in line with the national agenda.”
