Oman’s Ministry of Finance organised a workshop on controlling the financial performance of the State’s General Budget for 2022 via video conference, with participation from representatives of several Government units.
The seminar aimed to clarify the mechanism of an initiative devised to control financial performance that ensures all government units and agencies adhere to their approved budgets in order to achieve efficient implementation of the State’s General Budget for the fiscal year 2022 and its economic and social objectives.
It also reviewed the procedures of controlling financial performance and challenges faced by the commitment to implement the General Budget over past years, and ways to improve and develop mechanisms for controlling the financial performance of the State’s General Budget this year.
The Ministry of Finance furthermore urged government units and agencies to submit a statement to distribute cash flow to the approved budget on a monthly basis.
In addition to reviewing the unit’s monthly financial performance and making necessary comments, the Ministry also stressed the importance of commitment and sending monthly reports and notes to ensure the success of key targets of the State Budget for the year.
