Oman, UAE telecom regulators hold a coordination meeting
Within the framework of bilateral cooperation between Oman and UAE telecom regulators, the seventeenth coordination meeting was held between the two regulators. TRA Executive President, His Excellency Dr. Hamed bin Salim Al Rawahi, received at the TRA office H. E. Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, UAE TRA Director General.
Within the framework of bilateral cooperation between Oman and UAE telecom regulators, the seventeenth coordination meeting was held between the two regulators. TRA Executive President, His Excellency Dr. Hamed bin Salim Al Rawahi, received at the TRA office H. E. Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, UAE TRA Director General.
The purpose of the UAE delegation’s visit to Oman was to discuss interference and coverage over spilling into the borders of the two countries. It also aims to intensify collaboration on matters of mutual interest for both regulators. Telecom operators of both countries participated in the meeting.
The coordination meeting also discussed a number of other topics, including an agreement on a technical mechanism to operate 4G mobile networks at the borders, which will reduce the overspill and interference issues in the border area.
This meeting is held under the umbrella of the Telecommunications Bureau of the Secretariat General of the Gulf Corporation Council.
