St. Petersburg International Economic Forum to include 150 sessions with 600 plus speakers

The list of speakers for SPIEF has been published on the official website of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, which will take place from 18 to 21 June 2025 in St. Petersburg. The forum is organized by the Roscongress Foundation. This year, SPIEF will focus on finding common ground amid global turbulence, rethinking cooperation models and laying the foundations for sustainable development.

“The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum is a mirror of global change and, at  the same time, a working tool that helps forge new economic and humanitarian ties. In 2025, the focus will be on dialogue between civilisations, strengthening economic sovereignty, and finding joint responses to the challenges of the new world order. The business programme presented reflects these priorities,” said Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation and Executive Secretary of the SPIEF Organizing Committee.

The main theme of the forum is ‘Shared Values: The Foundation for Growth in a Multipolar World’. It emphasizes the desire to build a fair and balanced international architecture based on respect for cultural diversity, equality, and mutual interest. The business agenda focuses on strengthening economic sovereignty, developing national financial systems, technological independence and countering sanctions pressure.

SPIEF 2025 business programme includes more than 150 events covering key topics in the development of the global and Russian economies, and more than 600 speakers and moderators.

Participants in the business programme include: Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary; Mohamed Arkab, Minister of Energy, Mining and Renewable Energy of Algeria; Anton Siluanov, Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation; Maxim Reshetnikov, Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation; Roman Starovoit, Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation; Ali bin Ahmed Al-Kuwari, Minister of Finance of the State of Qatar; Sheikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy of the Kingdom of Bahrain; Eldar Alisherov, Minister for Integration and Macroeconomics of the Eurasian Economic Commission; Aloysio Nunes Ferreira Filho, Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Brazil, representative of ApexBrasil; Maxim Kolesnikov, First Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation; Roman Chekushov, State Secretary – Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation; Andrey Denisov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation; Irada Zeynalova, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Mauritius; Marat Berdyev, Ambassador-at-Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation for G20, APEC and BEPS.

Main tracks of the programme include:

  • ‘The Global Economy: A New Platform for Global Growth’ – strengthening a multipolar world, reforming global economic institutions, expanding trade ties with friendly countries;
  • ‘The Russian Economy: A New Level of Growth’ – diversifying the economy, developing industrial and financial sovereignty, supporting SMEs and national currency instruments;
  • ‘The Individual in a New World’ – human capital development, social policy, healthcare and education, including the digitalization of public services;
  • ‘The Living Environment’ – sustainable development, ecology, climate, green energy, urban planning and quality of life;
  • ‘Technology: Pursuing Leadership’ – artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, biotechnology, import independence and the formation of domestic technology ecosystems.

Among the key events of SPIEF 2025 are the SCO, BRICS, EAEU, SME Forums, Creative Industries Forum, Ensuring Drug Security Forum, B20 Forum, and the General Assembly of the Asia-Pacific News Agency Association (APNA).

Special attention will be paid to the youth agenda. One of the key events will be the International Youth Economic Forum ‘Day of the Future,’ partnered by the international network Friends for Leadership, accredited by the UN ECOSOC. The Forum will bring together young leaders and entrepreneurs from more than 100 countries.
