Teramont – the family SUV
A practical family SUV, the new Teramont is the perfect vehicle that boasts of spaciousness, comfort and efficiency
One of the most trusted automotive brands, Volkswagen has always been ahead of their game offering vehicles that are best-in-class for quality, performance excellence, and style. The varied range of vehicles spans nearly every class, from the small-sized family hatchbacks to high-end luxury SUVs. However, one vehicle category that was, until recently, missing from the range offered in the region was a full-sized seven-seater SUV. This is one of the mainstay vehicle classes in this region, known for its large family units and capacity requirements. That was, until the launch of the Teramont late last year.
Large, comfortable and spacious, the new Teramont has the look and feel of a practical family SUV. This modern vehicle is an absolute novelty for the brand in the Middle East. With a length of 5,037 mm, a width of 1,979 mm and a height of 1,768 mm the Teramont is, by far, the largest Volkswagen on sale in Oman. As a result, one of the greatest advantages of the new SUV is the enormous amount of space inside. Whether for the big weekend shopping expedition or a holiday with the family, up to 2,741 litres of luggage can fit into the car, depending on the seating arrangements. Even when all seven seats are occupied, people can sit comfortably in the rear.
To ensure the Teramont was developed as the perfect family SUV, Volkswagen treated the functionality of the seven-seat layout as paramount in the vehicle’s development. An innovative 1-step folding mechanism for the second-row seats was developed which offers room for effortless third-row entry and exit, even with child seats in place, and does not compromise on space and comfort.
As with any Volkswagen, safety for families was also a major priority during the development of the Teramont. As a result, the new SUV comes with an array of active and passive safety features including three-point seatbelts for all seats, side-curtain head-protection airbags that cover all three rows, a reinforced safety-cage construction, and much more.
Notwithstanding, the interior is not the only strong point. Despite its size, the Teramont still expresses the true Volkswagen style and quality finish – delivering the distinctive design and craftsmanship the brand is known for, now with room for seven.
Building on the modular transverse matrix (MQB) from Volkswagen, the Teramont was born with the latest Volkswagen design DNA. Classic proportions and clean lines that create a sense of timelessness and precision. Up front, LED headlights and LED Daytime Running Lights combine for a unique visual signature, with optional LED taillights to complete the look.
Moreover, this flexibility also carried over to the trim levels and pricing, with the Teramont being offered in four different trim levels – an S with a 2.0L engine, and a 3.6L in S, SE and SEL, and prices starting at RO13,507. Better still, Wattayah Motors, the exclusive distributor of Volkswagen in Oman, is currently gearing up for Ramadan with an exciting range of offers across its entire range, including the Teramont, throughout the holy month. As part of this seasonal offer, Volkswagen in Oman offers its customers a 3-Year or 45,000km free service package, 3-year unlimited mileage warranty and roadside assistance, together with a cash gift of OMR 2,019 on select models from its range until 25 June 2019. This makes it the perfect time to grab that perfect family SUV you have always been dreaming of.
