National Finance hosts ESO-led employee awareness session on sustainability responsibility
As part of its ongoing commitment to cultivating a workforce that is empowered and equipped to advance sustainable development, National Finance, recently hosted an awareness session for employees in collaboration with the Environment Society of Oman (ESO). The session highlighted plastic free living and best environmental practices.
The lecture was delivered by Ahmed Al Zadjali from the Environment Society of Oman (ESO), who led an engaging awareness session highlighting the importance of adopting a plastic-free lifestyle and embracing sustainable daily habits. The session also featured an interactive workshop that raised employees’ awareness of sustainability and environmental responsibility, reinforcing their active role in protecting the environment and supporting sustainable development goals.
Building on its long-standing commitment to sustainability and corporate social responsibility, National Finance has made significant progress through its ‘Be Green’ initiative, which aims to embed environmentally responsible practices into employees’ daily routines and promote a culture of sustainability across the organisation. The initiative has delivered tangible results, including a 19% reduction in petrol consumption and a 12% decrease in water usage in 2025. The company also replaced 720,000 plastic bottles with sustainable glass alternatives, demonstrating the tangible impact of its ongoing commitment to sustainability.
Commenting on the initiative, Tariq Sulaiman Al Farsi, Chief Executive Officer at National Finance, remarked, “At National Finance, we recognise the importance of raising environmental awareness and encouraging environmentally responsible practices among our employees. Our collaboration with the Environment Society of Oman reflects our ongoing commitment to fostering a culture of sustainability across the organization. We believe that even small, conscious actions can lead to meaningful and lasting environmental impact. Initiatives like this play an important role in empowering our employees to contribute actively to supporting the Sultanate of Oman’s sustainability ambitions and Oman Vision 2020.”
The session represents another milestone in the longstanding partnership between National Finance and ESO, which has consistently sought to foster awareness and inspire sustainable action across communities. As part of this collaboration, ESO regularly supports the company’s efforts to enhance environmental consciousness among employees through sustainability awareness educational sessions. A cornerstone of this collaboration is National Finance’s support for ESO’s Green Campus Initiative, which seeks to empower youth across universities and colleges to lead as agents of climate action.
By nurturing a culture of continuous learning and environmental responsibility, National Finance remains committed to strengthening its workforce to drive positive change. Through sustained investment in people, partnerships and purpose-driven initiatives, the company continues to contribute to a more sustainable future for the nation and the communities it serves.
