The total number of passengers including arrivals, departures and transit  through the airports of the Sultanate of Oman until the end of June 2026 reached about 6,276,117  by the end of June 2026, representing a 9.3 percent decline from 6,921,569 during the same period in 2025.

The latest data issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information indicated that the total number of international flights arriving and departing through Muscat International, Salalah and Sohar airports amounted to 38,203 flights until the end of June 2026, a decrease of 10.7 percent compared to 42,778 flights during the same period in 2025.

Statistics showed that Muscat International Airport recorded a decrease in the total number of international and domestic flights by 8.3 percent, reaching 41,022 flights by the end of June 2026, compared to 44,743 flights by the end of June 2025. The total number of passengers also decreased by 8.8 percent to reach 5,688,276 passengers, compared to 6,233,954 passengers during the same period last year.

Regarding passenger traffic through Muscat International Airport during June 2026, Indian nationals topped the list of nationalities with the most traffic in arriving and departing flights with a total of 173,156 passengers, including 76,271 arrivals and 96,885 departures, followed by Omanis with a total of 125,560 passengers, including 54,222 arrivals and 71,338 departures, while Bangladeshi nationals came in third place with a total of 47,822 passengers, including 20,092 arrivals and 27,730 departures.

Salalah Airport recorded a decrease in the total number of international and domestic flights by 12.8 percent, reaching 3,945 flights by the end of June 2026, compared to 4,526 flights during the same period in 2025. The total number of passengers also decreased by 14.6 percent to reach 561,532 passengers, compared to 657,209 passengers.

As for Sohar Airport, it recorded a decrease in the total number of international and domestic flights by 9.5 percent, reaching 76 flights until the end of June 2026, compared to 84 flights during the same period last year. The total number of passengers also decreased by 45.8 percent to reach 182 passengers, compared to 336 passengers during the same period last year.

At Duqm Airport, the total number of domestic flights decreased by 10.5 percent to 274 flights by the end of June 2026, compared to 306 flights during the same period in 2025. The number of passengers also decreased by 13.1 percent, recording 26,127 passengers, compared to 30,070 passengers during the same period last year.
