OPAZ Empowered By MoCIIP To Offer ‘Invest Easy’ Services
Muscat: The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion (MoCIIP) have now empowered the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ), via means of a technical cooperation agreement, with the same authority to operate the ‘Invest Easy’ one-stop-shop portal for fresh licences and permits.
The agreement was signed by MoCIIP and OPAZ, respectively represented by Dr Saleh bin Said Masan, Under-Secretary for Commerce and Industry, and Eng Ahmed bin Hassan al Dheeb, Deputy Chairman of the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones. As per the agreement, the authority to approve all electronic services provided by the MoCIIP in the ‘Invest Easy’ portal, will be made available to the one-stop-shop in the special economic zones and the free zones.
The cooperation programme has come about in line with the efforts accorded to develop Oman’s economy and provide an attractive environment for investments in the Sultanate by helping and facilitating procedures and providing high-quality services to investors in a record time and fast and easy procedures. Accordingly, this supports achieving digital transformation objectives, the Government’s directives, and Oman vision 2040.
