Bidder Forks $28 Million To Travel With Jeff Bezos For Blue Origin Space Flight
After one month of online auctioning, the successful bidder – who’s identity will be revealed only in the coming weeks will be flying with Blue Origin & Amazon owner, Jeff Bezos and his brother Mark Bezos, later this year on the 20th of July.
The proceeds of this auction will go to charity. The passengers will ferried to the edge of space in the New Shepard rocket. The spacecraft has been extensively tested, 15 times before but without any passengers.
Jeff Bezos commented before the final bidding, “To see the earth from space, changes you. It changes your relationship with this planet, with humanity.”
Blue Origin is competing with SpaceX and Virgin Galactic in the sector of privatised space exploration.
