Beaches, Parks To Be Closed In Oman; Night Closure Instated In North Al Sharqiyah Governorate
Muscat: The Supreme Committee tasked with dealing with the Coronavirus (COVID-19) has decided to close all beaches and public parks across the Sultanate for a period of two weeks.
The decision will come into effect from February 11 as the number of Coronavirus cases continues to rise.
The Committee has also imposed a 50 per cent capacity on service halls, commercial centers, shops, markets, hookah cafes, gyms, restaurants, cafes. This decision will come into effect from Friday, February 12.
The governing body has also recommended to avoid gatherings of families and friends in homes and other private places.
Other decisions by the Supreme Committee include:
- Closure of all commercial activities in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate from 7:00 pm to 6:00 am starting from Friday, February 12 for a period of 14 days with the exception of fuel stations, health institutions and private pharmacies.
- Ban on all forms of gatherings at rest houses, farms, winter camps, and others.
- The Supreme Committee also imposed mandatory institutional quarantine for all arrivals through air, land, and seaports on their own expenses as ‘many did not comply with home quarantine and others violated the procedures approved by the Supreme Committee’.
