Happy 48th National Day, Bahrain!

The Kingdom of Bahrain is celebrating its 48th National Day on Monday and Tuesday, December 16 and 17.
A nationwide holiday has been announced by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, through an official circular for Bahrain National Day and the Anniversary of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s Accession to the throne.
On this day in 1783, Bahrain was established as an Arab and Muslim country founded by Ahmed Al-Fateh and included to the United Nations as a state of a full membership.
Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, accompanied by a high-level delegation team, will visit Bahrain to attend the National Day celebrations as guest of honour. Khan will also receive Bahrain’s highest civil award.
A series of celebrations including functions and cultural activities casting light on the kingdom’s historical background has been organised throughout the nation.
The Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunication’s Bahrain Post, in cooperation with the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA), has issued a single commemorative stamp, crowned by the portrait of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. The stamp is available in a 500 fils denomination and a first day cover at 750 fils. The stamps are available at all Bahrain Post branches.
